AUTHOR
Emil A. De Guzman was born to Filipino migrant parents and grew up in San Francisco. He attended public and private schools. A graduate of the University of California Berkeley and Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government. Distinguished community and labor organizer over many years. Served in government, nonprofits and education. Academic credentials include founder and lecturer of Asian American Studies Division UC Berkeley. Faculty member at University of San Francisco, San Francisco State University, California State University Sacramento. President International Hotel Tenants Association 1977, President emeritus Manilatown Heritage Foundation 1996-2010.
