Filled with delightful and cheerful illustrations, the book and CD pair to make learning Mandarin and its correct pronunciations easy and fun. Children will learn useful Chinese phrases, how to count to 10, as well as sing four songs in Chinese. It is written in English and Pinyin—the system for writing Chinese words with the Roman alphabet—and has a handy glossary at the back in three forms: English, Pinyin, and both traditional and simplified Chinese characters.

About the Author


Laura Lee is an accomplished musician, a piano teacher, and an active member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California. She has worked with many children and families in teaching a developmental music and movement program for children ages newborn to seven. She lives in Hercules, California. Debbie Huey is the artist and writer of the comic book series Bumperboy, which includes the Xeric Award-winning book Bumperboy Loses His Marbles and Bumperboy and the Loud, Loud Mountain, which was named one of Booklist’s Top Ten Graphic Novels for Youth in 2007. She lives in Redwood City, California. Sherwin Viray is a former 3D modeler for video game companies who worked on franchises such as Ratchet and Clank, Tony Hawk, and X-Men. He is currently a cover illustrator for magazines and comic books, with clients including Activision, Imagine Media, and Sturdy Comics. He lives in Pinole, California.
